Fewer keywords, used consistently

My first attempt had a tree of more than three hundred keywords. Two years later I could not find anything, because I never remembered whether a picnic lived under "summer", "family" or "outdoors".

The current list is about forty words. People, places and a handful of recurring things: birthdays, school, the dacha, trips. Dates come from the files themselves, so I never tag a year.

The rule that made it stick: if I hesitate for more than a second about a tag, it does not get created. Search by place plus person finds almost everything.
